VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS, MIDLANDS DIVISION
Position Title: Board Member
Responsible To: Board Chairman
Staff Liaisons: State Director and Executive Director
Responsibilities: 1. Provide vision and direction for March of Dimes activities
2. Make a financial gift each year to the March of Dimes Annual Fund and solicit others
3. Support fundraising activities through attendance at events, sponsorship, and participation in major events such as March for Babies and Signature Chefs.
4. Represent the March of Dimes at official functions
5. Attend State Volunteer Leadership Conference
Qualifications: 1. Demonstrate community leadership and knowledge of
community resources
2. Basic understanding of the March of Dimes mission, programs, policies, and procedures
3. Good organizational skills – mature, good understanding of business and management practices.
4. Dedication to success and growth of March of Dimes
Training Available: 1. March of Dimes Volunteer Orientation Program
2. Annual Volunteer Leadership Conference
3. Ongoing training at regular meetings – regular mailings
Evaluation: Annual evaluation based upon meeting attendance, leadership exhibited, accomplishment of agreed upon objectives. Conducted by the Volunteer Development and Nominating Committee Chair
Time Required: 1. Attendance at Board meetings and subcommittee meetings
(approximately 5 hrs/mo.) 2. Attendance at March of Dimes events and functions
